History and Uses
The stone is a combination of yellowy green Serpentine and purple Stichtite, only found on Tasmania's wild West Coast. This rare mineral was named after Robert Sticht the manager of the Mt Lyell Mine at nearby Queenstown. It has been found at Stichtite Hill, a small hilltop in Zeehan, Tasmania, where it is exclusively mined.
